IPL Treatment for Age Spots, Sun Spots (sun-induced freckles), Sun Damage and Pigmentation
How Does IPL Work?
IPL uses light energy in
specific wave lengths to reverse the visible damage that skin has suffered from
chronic sun exposure, smoking, irregular blood vessels and environmental wear
and tear, making you look older than you really are.
IPL (intense pulsed light) is used to treat pigmentation,
age spots and sun damage on the entire face and body. It does not treat hypo
pigmented (areas where pigment is lost) skin.
This IPL treatment also helps by
stimulating collagen production in the deep layers of the dermis to smooth the
skin’s surface and minimise fine lines and wrinkles, giving you a more youthful appearance.
This IPL treatment (also known as photorejuvenation) offers a non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type, providing superior cosmetic results.
Facial imperfections or abnormalities can detract from your well being and appearance, no matter how healthy and young you feel. IPL technology helps to create a smoother-looking skin.
After a series of treatments, you can see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation. The same treatment can be used effectively on your neck, chest, arms and hands.

The IPL Procedure
Your skin is cleansed and prepared for the treatment
A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated, this helps with reducing the sensation of heat from the IPL hand piece, when it is applied to the skin.
Protective eye wear is given to you to wear.
The smooth glass surface of the IPL treatment head is gently placed over the area to be treated and pulses of light are applied to the skin.
These specific light wave lengths, which vary in intensity according to your skin type, area location to be treated and the depth at which the light penetrates your skin, is required to give you amazing results, are emitted by the IPL hand piece.
You may feel a slight sting, like a snapping of a small rubber band. This procedure is carried out over the specific areas to be treatment, with a series of quick passes with the IPL light.
Treatment times do vary from 15 to 45 minutes (depending on the area to be treated). A complete treatment program includes two to six sessions spaced over a three to four week interval. This provides excellent long-term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction.
By dividing the program into several treatments, you get a gradual, "natural-looking" improvement with very low risk and it preserves the wonderful "no down time" feature that people appreciate also.
You may experience slight redness to the treatment area, and your sun damage/pigmentation will look, slightly darker and will gradually improve, over the next few days.
You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities.
Over the series of treatments, the treatment area becomes clear of brown spots, birthmarks, discolouration or unwanted veins, virtually all traces of those unsightly blemishes, and you will also see an improvement in the smoothness of your skin.
